It is operated by key, push button, or manually, depending on the model. On an entrance door, a security lock can complement the existing lock.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Resistance depends on the mechanism, fixings, strike and mounting surface. It is particularly suitable for an interior door, a cabinet, or certain shutters.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It allows retaining an opening or achieving privacy. On an exposed exterior door, it does not replace a security lock. The quality of installation, command accessibility, and appropriate maintenance remain decisive.
