A smart lock, also known as an intelligent lock, allows you to grant access via an electronic device. Depending on the solution, it either motorises your existing lock or replaces the cylinder with an electronic model.
Grant temporary access to a close contact, avoid handing out duplicate keys, or organise a local schedule — these are practical uses. Remote door opening remains a function to verify separately: sending a digital key does not mean the door will open remotely.

For a private residence, an app and a keypad can make family entries easier. For a rental, we set up time-limited access during the stay and a backup method.

Useful answers.
Does the entire lock need to be replaced?
Not necessarily. A Nuki motorisation can retain a compatible lock; AirKey uses an appropriate electronic cylinder; EMZY requires a cylinder and mounting that are compatible. A diagnosis determines what can remain in place.
Can I open without a phone?
Yes, depending on the installation: a Nuki Keypad 2 keyboard, a badge, or an AirKey card, or a command connected to EMZY can be provided. A backup method is defined prior to installation.
Is the cylinder still important?
Yes. Electronic control does not replace mechanical door protection. The cylinder, its door furniture, the lock, and their fixings are inspected together. Discover the cylinders ↗
