Gate Lock Replacement in Annecy
A gate that doesn't close properly doesn't always lack strength: it may simply lack alignment. MULTISECU checks the lock, strike plate, and gate movement to restore practical and securely locked access.
Precise diagnosis · Explained quotation · Installation & adjustments

UNDERSTAND YOUR NEED
Three options, one explained.
Gate adjustment
Check clearances, alignment, and stops before engaging a new mechanism.
External lock
Select a lock case, materials, and fixings appropriate to the support and exposure.
Controlled access
Assess the compatibility of a strike plate or electric lock with the existing control system.
LE BON DIAGNOSTIC
Hinged, sliding, or gate: three applications to distinguish.
On a hinged or gate door, the lock must match the post profile, the direction of opening, and the strike plate position. A sliding door may use a hook latch or a specific device designed for its configuration. Components are not interchangeable solely based on appearance.
Exposure to rain, corrosion, dirt, and door movement can affect performance. We first inspect fittings, clearances, and bolt travel. A difficult key turn may stem from a worn cylinder, but also from pressure applied to the lock.
On a motorised access, it is also necessary to distinguish between mechanical and electrical locking. A failure of the remote, power supply, or motorisation does not resolve simply by replacing the lock.
COMPATIBILITÉ & QUALITÉ DE POSE
Replace the correct component, preserve the door.
We measure the gate profile, stile thickness, cylinder backset and existing holes before selecting a replacement. If the original model is no longer available, any required adaptations are explained before work starts. The strength of a lock also depends on the structure supporting it.
On completion, the opening, the handle return, and engagement into the strike plate are checked. The door must lock without requiring it to be lifted or pushed excessively. Recommended maintenance takes into account the external environment and the equipment specifications.
For a first replacement, send a full photo of the door, a view of the housing and its strike plate, and specify whether it is manual or motorised. Also indicate whether the issue occurs during every operation or only in certain positions.
BEFORE WORK
What the quotation must specify.
The lock reference, supply, installation, adjustments, and any necessary adaptations are detailed according to your situation. If the door must be opened initially, this operation is noted separately. Also see our pricing details.
To facilitate the first replacement: a general view of the door, a photo of the internal mechanism, and photos of the markings on the edge. Avoid dismantling a lock that is still functioning.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Before replacing your lock.
Can only the cylinder be replaced?
Yes, if the cylinder is removable, compatible, and the sole issue. If the lock case is corroded or damaged, a full lock replacement may be more suitable.
Can a lever-style lock be used on all doors?
No. It must be designed for the support and operate with an appropriate strike plate. A lock intended for an interior door with a keyway does not automatically suit an external door.
Can the remote control be retained?
It depends on the installed equipment. The locking mechanism must remain compatible with the power supply, control system, and access operating conditions.
