Strengthening the door
Protecting Door Hinges Against Lifting
The hinge side contributes to a door's stability just as much as the lock side. Depending on the installation, anti-lift brackets or hinge reinforcements may be added to enhance security.

KEY POINTS
A decorative cover is not necessarily a security feature. The anti-lift function depends on the components, their fixings, and the door's configuration.
Understanding the role of joints
Hinges and hinges support the weight and allow the door to rotate. Their design varies: some installations are removable, others include special protections or axes.
External accessibility, door opening direction, and door play influence diagnosis. A heavy door with worn fixings requires first a mechanical restoration.
Study anti-lift devices
Latches or retaining pieces may enter the frame when the door is closed, depending on the solution. Their function is to maintain a connection even if the hinge side is subjected to stress.
These devices must match the support and available clearances. Misalignment can interfere with closure; fixation in a fragile material may reduce their effectiveness.
Choose between hinges and hinge reinforcement bar
Reinforcing or replacing a hinge may be sufficient in certain cases. A hinge reinforcement bar can be considered to distribute loads and support a reinforced door project.
The added weight of a steel door reinforcement must be taken into account. Removing a heavy door requires appropriate holding measures: do not remove hinges by simply holding the door open by hand.
Check consistency with the lock
A gable-side reinforcement completes the lock, strike plates, and frame. It does not replace an overall system check or a doorset certification when such a level of security is required.
After work, the door must pivot, close, and lock smoothly with no abnormal effort. MULTISECU can inspect the hinges and propose a consistent reinforcement aligned with the rest of the installation.
