3-Point Lock Replacement in Annecy
A key that catches, a locking point that no longer engages, or a worn mechanism: MULTISECU investigates the cause of the problem before replacing your 3-point lock. Objective: achieve smooth closure with equipment suited to your door.
Precise diagnosis · Explained quotation · Installation & adjustments

UNDERSTAND YOUR NEED
Three options, one explained.
Repair or adjust
A misalignment or a replaceable part may allow you to retain the existing equipment.
Replace identically
The reference, lock case dimensions and locking point positions must suit the door.
Enhance the protection
The choice takes into account the cylinder, the strike plates, the door and your insurance contract requirements.
LE BON DIAGNOSTIC
Three points, one operation to identify.
A three-point lock operates several locking points from one key or handle. Depending on the design, these points are arranged along the door edge or connected by rods at the top and bottom. A stiff key may therefore indicate a problem with the cylinder, central lock case, another locking point or alignment with the strikes.
If the door closes properly when open but requires force when closed, the door and strike plate adjustment should be checked. If the key turns in the empty, if the handle no longer operates the bolts, or if a section is broken, the mechanism must be inspected. Forcing further may worsen the fault.
After a key loss, replacing the cylinder may suffice if the rest of the lock is intact. After a forced entry attempt, we also check the fittings, the frame, and the cylinder protection.
COMPATIBILITÉ & QUALITÉ DE POSE
Compatibility is determined in the details.
Mortice or surface-mounted fitting, backset, centres, faceplate width and handing: two similar-looking locks are not necessarily interchangeable. For an older lock, we look for a compatible part or explain the necessary adaptation before installation.
The number of points does not alone determine resistance to forced entry. A certification relates to a specific reference and composition; it cannot be inferred from the simple mention '3 points'. After intervention, each point is tested, door opened and closed, with no abnormal resistance on the key.
BEFORE WORK
What the quotation must specify.
The lock reference, supply, installation, adjustments, and any necessary adaptations are detailed according to your situation. If the door must be opened initially, this operation is noted separately. Also see our pricing details.
To facilitate the first replacement: a general view of the door, a photo of the internal mechanism, and photos of the markings on the edge. Avoid dismantling a lock that is still functioning.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Before replacing your lock.
Must a three-point lock always be replaced?
No. The diagnosis allows distinguishing a defective cylinder, a repairable lock case, and a complete set requiring replacement. Availability of parts and overall condition guide the decision.
Can the same keys be retained?
It may be possible if the existing cylinder is kept and compatible. Following a key loss or suspicion of key circulation, replacing the cylinder enables starting with new keys.
Is a 3-point lock necessarily certified A2P?
No. Check the exact reference and intended components for the certified model. The number of points and the certification level are two separate pieces of information.
