5-Point Lock Replacement in Annecy

When a 5-point lock jams, the entire closure system must be assessed before replacement. MULTISECU checks the mechanism, locking points, and their alignment to preserve your door and select the right solution.

UNDERSTAND YOUR NEED

Three options, one explained.

Coffre and transmission

Identify the faulty component and check whether a replacement part is still available.

Points and strike plates

Check the engagement of each bolt and its alignment across the full height.

Cylinder and protection

Keep or replace the cylinder based on its condition, compatibility, and your security requirements.

LE BON DIAGNOSTIC

A distributed locking mechanism, a precise intervention.

The five points can be arranged laterally or combined with lateral, high, and low closures depending on the model. They are operated by a common mechanism. A single point encountering resistance may be sufficient to stiffen the entire operation.

We distinguish a damaged cylinder, a worn transmission, and an alignment issue. A door with play, a displaced strike plate, or loose fittings may interfere with closure without warranting a full replacement of the entire set.

Avoid multiple attempts by forcing the key or handle. If the door can still remain securely open, have the mechanism inspected before it becomes fully jammed. In the case of an inaccessible door, opening and repair must be evaluated as separate operations.

COMPATIBILITÉ & QUALITÉ DE POSE

Five points do not replace a well-designed set.

The Sésame 2 X8 shown here is a full-length covered multipoint lock with five lateral locking points. It does not represent every five-point lock: bolt positions and mounting must suit your door. We confirm a suitable replacement after identifying the existing installation.

The casing protects and finishes the mechanism; it does not constitute a certification on its own. For a certified model, we verify the cylinder, lock, and associated components references. The quality of the frame and fittings remains decisive.

Maintenance depends on the equipment. Using a product appropriate to the cylinder and checking the settings is preferable to randomly applying lubricant. We explain the essential steps for your installation.

BEFORE WORK

What the quotation must specify.

The lock reference, supply, installation, adjustments, and any necessary adaptations are detailed according to your situation. If the door must be opened initially, this operation is noted separately. Also see our pricing details.

To facilitate the first replacement: a general view of the door, a photo of the internal mechanism, and photos of the markings on the edge. Avoid dismantling a lock that is still functioning.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Before replacing your lock.

Can a 5-point lock replace a 3-point lock?

Sometimes, after checking the door, frame, dimensions, and fixings. Adding points is not a universal solution: a poorly executed adaptation may interfere with closure.

Does replacing the lock mean a new door is required?

Not necessarily. A door in good condition can accommodate a compatible mechanism. If the structure or frame is degraded, reinforcing or replacing the doorset may be more appropriate.

How do I find the price?

It depends on the reference, cylinder, adaptations, and door condition. The quotation separates supply and installation, without equating the price of a part to the full installation cost.
