Install and adjust
Verify the strike plates and test full operation with the provided keys.
LE BON DIAGNOSTIC
The brand is the starting point. The reference makes the difference.
A Vachette lock can be single-point or multi-point, in-slab or surface-mounted. Keyed-closure, handle lift, and automatic locking systems operate differently. Their replacement requires precise identification.
Product families such as Trilock or 5000 help narrow the search but do not establish compatibility. Faceplate length, backset, centres, lock case dimensions and strike positions must match.
If the handle must be lifted to lock, unusual resistance may stem from misalignment or transmission issues. We inspect the door before concluding that the lock is faulty. A defective cylinder or a separate component may avoid replacing a sound unit.
COMPATIBILITÉ & QUALITÉ DE POSE
Respect the intended operation of your entry.
For an automatic lock, testing focuses particularly on activation and locking when the door closes. For a lift-and-lock model, the handle must engage the points without excessive force. We explain the corresponding closing sequence for your equipment.
The Vachette range includes several configurations and security levels. Any certification must be verified on the exact model, with compatible components. Replacing the cylinder with a selected reference solely based on its length may alter the installation's characteristics.
If the reference is old or unavailable, we explore a substitution solution. Reassembly, finishes, and implications on your keys are included in the quotation prior to intervention.
BEFORE WORK
What the quotation must specify.
The lock reference, supply, installation, adjustments, and any necessary adaptations are detailed according to your situation. If the door must be opened initially, this operation is noted separately. Also see our pricing details.
To facilitate the first replacement: a general view of the door, a photo of the internal mechanism, and photos of the markings on the edge. Avoid dismantling a lock that is still functioning.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Before replacing your lock.
Can I replace a Trilock with any Vachette lock?
No. Even within the same brand, dimensions, mechanisms, and point positions differ. We look for a reference compatible with your door.
Do I need to replace the lock after losing keys?
If the mechanism is working, a cylinder change may be sufficient. We check its profile, dimensions, and compatibility with the lock.
What should I provide to identify an old lock?
A view of the faceplate, readable markings, the position of the handle and cylinder, as well as photos of the locking points. It is not necessary to remove the lock yourself.
