Héraclès locks comprise several families and generations. A full-length covered multipoint lock features a casing that conceals part of the mechanism; the model must be identified before ordering a lock case or replacement cylinder.
The diagnosis distinguishes the key operation, the handle function, the engagement of the points, and the condition of the strike plates. A broken component, a failing cylinder, and a misaligned door require different interventions.
The Sésame 2 X8 illustrated on this page is a five-point lateral configuration with door restrictor. It serves as a reference point for understanding this family of locks, without assuming your installation includes the same components.
COMPATIBILITÉ & QUALITÉ DE POSE
A similar cylinder is not necessarily compatible.
Some locks use a special drive mechanism. Therefore, selection does not solely depend on cylinder length: its installation, operation, and intended components for the lock must be confirmed.
If your set is certified, the repair must take into account the corresponding components. A commercial warranty or certification level does not automatically extend to all model references.
We also inspect the components surrounding the lock. A misaligned door restrictor, handle, or strike plate can create the impression of a general failure. After intervention, the lock is tested under normal usage conditions, and then the closing procedures are demonstrated to you.

Not always. It can be retained if in good condition and compatible with the replaced parts. However, any deformations or damaged fittings must be considered.
Can the Héraclès cylinder be replaced alone?
Depending on the model, yes. The drive type and compatibility with the entire set must be verified before selecting the part.
What to do if the lock sticks?
Avoid forcing. Indicate whether the fault occurs when the door is open, closed, or in both situations. This information helps distinguish between a misalignment and an internal fault.
