Fichet Security Doors: What Should You Know?
To compare a Fichet security door with another solution, it is best to start from your property and its constraints. Certification, installation, comfort, and maintenance must be evaluated door by door.

What the doorset certification means
The A2P BP1, BP2 and BP3 levels apply to doorsets in a defined configuration. They differ from A2P stars used for locks. The presence of a certified lock does not certify an existing door as a complete unit.
To compare two quotations, note the exact reference, the stated level, and the associated documents. The number of closure points is useful information, but it does not summarize the overall resistance.
Choose a suitable doorset for a flat or a house
In a co-ownership building, the external appearance, passage dimensions, and stair landing constraints must be assessed. For a private residence, exposure to rain, sun, and cold may require different characteristics.
Acoustic insulation, thermal performance, and potential fire resistance are also specific to the model and its options. Request documented values corresponding to the proposed door, rather than a general brand promise.
What affects the quotation
The price depends notably on the selected door, dimensions, finishes, lock, accessories, and removal of existing equipment. The reuse of the existing frame or coverings may also factor in.
It is therefore largely inappropriate to offer a single price for 'a Fichet door'. A detailed quotation enables comparison of the equipment installed in your property, including its finishes and applicable warranty conditions.
Compare with other solutions
A door in good condition can sometimes be strengthened with additional reinforcement or an appropriate closure. In other cases, replacing the doorset is more appropriate. An inspection of the existing unit will determine the best course of action.
